Budget Bathroom Update

Hi friends! Lizzy here. I decided that after being trapped in our house for weeks on end due to 1) snow and 2) Covid, I would entertain myself by finally updating our bathroom cabinets! When we moved in I absolutely HATED these countertops and sinks but didn’t want to break the budget by completely replacing them. I hoped if I could change the color scheme of the room maybe I could make them work!

Painting the Cabinets

I decided to add handles and paint the cabinets the color Nautical Stripe from the Bungalow 47 Furniture Paint line. I sanded the cabinets down, primed them, and then added 2 coats of paint plus a top coat since they would be exposed to a lot of moisture. Overall this was such a QUICK and easy upgrade, especially in comparison to doing all those kitchen cabinets! You can see when I did that here.

I also swapped out the sinks for these $60 Kohler ones, added a white rug to match and brighten the room, and then installed recycled faucets (thanks mom!). I was originally very intimidated by swapping out the sinks myself but a couple youtube tutorials later and I’m now looking at all the other sinks in my house with renewed interest…
