Jill's Style

Bungalow 47 began as a mix of styles from both Jill and Chantelle, along with their love of repurposing vintage finds. Although they had known each other in the community for years, it was starting a business that brought them together. At Bungalow 47, they have always been passionate about homes telling the story of people’s lives. Paint began to play a leading role early in the business, and it soon became the main focus, causing Jill and Chantelle to close their retail location to concentrate on nationwide, paint distribution. They continue to build their brand with Bungalow 47 Furniture Paint, which they hope helps you to create something meaningful for your home. Both Jill and Chantelle center their personal lives around their shared love of design.

Jill and her husband Dennis purchased and renovated, from top to bottom, a home that serves as their empty nest. With married children living across the country, the new house focused on a paired-down version of the classic look Jill prefers, mixed with many heirlooms.

As each of their children married, Jill and Dennis took the opportunity to pass down furniture for their kids to style their new homes, keeping their favorites and necessities for the life they live.

A mix of old and new makes the living area a cozy place to hang out, watch television, or get inspired reading from Jill’s library of decorating books.

The basement stairwell provided a perfect canvas for Jill to place pictures of her children, and their spouses, which covers the ceiling over the stairs. A dutch door makes it easy for her to view daily.

The renovated master bathroom features an old buffet turned vanity, along with a gilded mirror that was purchased in the house’s estate sale Jill attended before ever knowing that she would later buy the house! Along with vintage rugs (one shown here), she remembered where the items had come from and brought them back to the house they had lived their life in.
